75 years of independence: The Coast Guard District Headquarters (Karnataka) held a walkathon on August 11 in Mangalore with the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of independence.
Launching the event, Customs and CGST Commissioner Imamuddin Ahmed said Wakathan was a great way to get everyone on their feet and stay active by promoting a healthy lifestyle. He emphasized the 75,000-step target for ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The 75th Independence Day should be an event that celebrates the spirit of the freedom struggle, the tribute to the martyrs and their pledge to create India.
To enhance cooperation between the two services (Indian Coast Guard and Customs), the two agencies have released another successful intervention and synergy related to other maritime activities, the Indian Coast Guard has released.
The importance of the event is to emphasize the wonderful history of India and to showcase India’s development since independence, and to encourage people to stay healthy and fit by incorporating physical activity and sports into their daily lives.
A total of 100 people attended the event, which was held at a distance of 7.5 km near the Custom Road in New Mangalore. ICG plans a special community interaction drive for fishermen in the coming days and will hoist the national flag on various islands and lighthouses.
