UP a powerhouse for India’s growth: Prime Minister Modi, who has launched a statewide awareness campaign on the food security scheme, said it was gratifying to see every grain sent to the state reach the beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Uttar Pradesh was becoming a powerhouse, fueling the country’s ongoing development despite the Covid-19 epidemic.
“People have always known and said that the path of power in Delhi will pass through Uttar Pradesh, but before that, it was not enough for anyone to think that the country would also fuel national development. UP recognition, which was previously limited to politics, is now starting to see big-ticket infra projects, industries, and investments coming to the state,” he said.

After Prime Minister Garib Kalyan spoke to the beneficiaries of the Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) in Uttar Pradesh via video conference on Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was showered with praises, describing him as a yogi and a karma yogi (saint and doer). Blessings of the common man to continue working “for the Dalits, the backward, the poor and the downtrodden”.
Under PM-GKAY, the state has so far provided free ration to 15 crore poor people. “I am going to continue this scheme till Diwali,” the PM told one of the five beneficiaries who were shortlisted for the interaction with him.

Adityanath welcomed the Prime Minister from Ayodhya and reminded him that he was in the temple town on the same day last year (August 5) for a bhumi puja (stone laying) ceremony for the Rama Mandir and how his government was developing. “Nai Ayodhya (New Ayodhya).
Referring to the importance of August 5, the Prime Minister today referred to the repeal of Article 370 two years ago and the Bhoomi Puja (stone laying) program for the Rama Mandir in Ayodhya last year.
He said, “Today is even more important today with the men’s hockey team winning a medal at the Olympics decades later.”
Referring to Covid-19 as the once-a-century epidemic, he said, “Can you even imagine what would have happened in UP if Covid-19 had happened five years ago? But today, about 5.15 crore [51.5 million] vaccines have been vaccinated in the state. “
Criticizing the opposition, he said, “Politics is changing … Ab Pad Nahi Padak (not post, not medals), Parivar Nahi Parisharm (not dynastic politics, labor) are becoming the main criteria.”
In addition to the Olympics, Modi also spoke about the upcoming landmark 500 million vaccination doses, a record 116,000 crore GST collection in July, signaling a new impetus in the economy. The Prime Minister also spoke about the Vikrant Trial Trial, India’s first made-in-aircraft carrier, the completion of the world’s tallest road in Ladakh and the launch of e-Rupee.
